TPU film — thermoplastic polyurethane film — is a flexible, non-porous polymer sheet with no woven or knitted base fabric behind it. TPU coated fabric pairs a TPU layer with a nylon or polyester substrate; TPU film stands on its own as a continuous membrane, supplied in roll form at thicknesses from a few microns up to several hundred microns depending on the application.
The alternating hard and soft segments in the polymer structure give TPU film its elasticity, weldability, and resistance to cracking.
